Who Am I?

Hey there! I’m Jessica (she/her), a licensed professional counselor (LPC in PA) and the founder of Metamorphosis Counseling. I’ve dedicated my career to learning about anxiety and emotional disconnection. My mission as a therapist is to help people stop the tug-of-war with their own minds, so they can start living a life that actually feels like it belongs to them. I have a passion for helping Millennials sort through their thoughts and emotions in a healthy way, while navigating the craziness of today’s world with self-compassion. It’s my mission to help you think clearly, feel genuinely, and evolve into the best form of yourself.

I identify as a “superfat” woman, and value radical authenticity, both personally and professionally. I don’t sit behind a clinical mask; I show up as a real human being who understands that we are all trying to navigate this crazy and fucked up world with tools we weren’t taught how to use.

I love working with:

  • The overthinkers and people pleasers - anyone who just wants to take back their life, and start saying “no” for a goddamn change

  • Have loved ones who have high-conflict personalities - for example, an emotionally immature parent who can’t manage their own emotions, let alone tell you how to manage yours - or a loved one diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD). I specialize in helping you set boundaries that stick, and navigating the feeling of “walking on eggshells” that comes with loving someone who is emotionally immature.

  • Therapists themselves - especially those who own their practices (solo or group) and are struggling to bridge the gap between therapist and business owner. If you are feeling the vicarious trauma, feel like you’re drowning in the administrative day to day, or are feeling the burnout of managing a team, I’m here to help you find your footing.

  • Body liberation seekers - Women in larger bodies who are exhausted by diet culture and the constant attempts to “fit in”. I operate from a Health at Every Size (HAES) and weight-neutral perspective to help you find peace in the body you have today.

How I Help

I became a therapist specifically to help my clients truly feel that they’re not alone. That the problems they’re facing are ones that are human, common, and many. You’re probably feeling like you are weird, or that something is wrong with you - and I’m here to tell you that you’re reacting normally to what has grown into a truly off the wall, bonkers world (to put it lightly). I am a seasoned acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) therapist; I work with you to turn “venting” into training - building psychological flexibility: the ability to be present, open up to difficult emotions, and do what matters anyways.

For my fellow therapists, I provide a space where you don’t have to be the expert. We look the interaction of your clinical work, your business ownership, and your personal self through an ACT lens, helping you to untangle your identify from your productivity, and ensuring you can focus on your values, not just your to-do list. Whether we are dismantling internalized rules that are making it hard to grow, or processing the isolation of leadership, we do it with the goal of moving you towards a life of meaning.

What it’s like in a session with me

If you’re anxious about coming to therapy, look no further. I know that it is really challenging to get started, and I come into the room with kindness, compassion, and calm to help you relax and get comfortable. That being said, if you want or need someone to call you on your shit, I’m also your girl! I don’t mince words when they need to be straight - it’s my job to help you improve in life, and sometimes that means that you need to be told the uncomfortable stuff.

My clients appreciate that I don't take sides blindly—I will challenge you to see the other side of a conflict and hold a mirror up to the patterns that might be holding you back. For therapist-clients, this means I won't just validate your burnout; I'll help you look at the systemic and internal barriers causing it. It’s a "brave space" where we use humor, directness, and perspective-taking to get to the truth. You’ll get a therapist who is steady, grounded, and deeply committed to your evolution.

More about me

As a business owner and parent, my free time is limited, but I do what I can! You’ll often find me playing a board game with my husband and family, soaking in all the quality time I can with my son, or taking in a beautiful Erie day with an outdoor dinner date with a friend. I’m truly a grandma at heart and love to craft, particularly cross-stitching, but you’ll also find me digging into the most immersive video games (some of my favorites are The Witcher 3, the Yakuza series, and DDV) or great TV (currently addicted to The Pitt and Dr. Robby in general).

“Commitment isn’t about being perfect, always following through, or never going astray. Commitment means that when you (inevitably) stumble or get off track, you pick yourself up, find your bearings, and carry on in the direction you want to go.”
